For eleven consecutive days each autumn since 2004, both locals and tourists in Iceland have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of cinema, savoring the finest and most innovative works of international filmmaking. 

At RIFF, attendees can engage in discussions with directors, delve into panels and workshops, relish live concerts and exhibitions, and witness films in unconventional settings such as swimming pools or the filmmakers' own homes.

With an extensive selection of dramas and non-fiction films hailing from over 40 countries, the festival shines a spotlight on independent filmmaking from across the globe, with a particular focus on emerging directors.
